Senior Java / Flowable / Kafka Backend Engineer (100%, m/f/d)

You are the architect and builder of LEASETEQ’s backend core in Berlin. You design the event‑driven micro-services and Flowable process models that power lease orchestration for real customers at production scale. You work in a small, senior team where your decisions have direct product impact, and you naturally bring AI tooling into your daily engineering workflow without being asked.
 
What you will do

• Design and implement BPMN 2.0 process models and DMN decision tables in Flowable
• Build and maintain Java / Spring Boot micro-services integrating with Flowable Java and REST APIs
• Design and operate Kafka‑based event streaming for core leasing domains
• Own service boundaries, API contracts and data models end‑to‑end
• Collaborate with the AI Agent Engineer to expose AI automation as Flowable service tasks and event‑driven gateways
• Define technical standards and review code from our Southeast Asia developer partners
• Participate in architecture decisions and quarterly reviews with the CTO
• Communicate clearly in German and English with engineering peers and business stakeholders

• Founding‑team‑level role with long lived architectural impact on our core platform
• Direct collaboration with the CTO and founders, including regular visits to our Swiss HQ
• Hybrid setup with 2-3 days per week in our coworking office in Berlin (WeWork, Stresemannstrasse)
• Competitive and fair salary: €70,000 - €90,000 gross per year, depending on experience and impact
